16, 2024) This
Saturday night, April 20th, promises to be a
very emotional evening when the California
Lightning Sprint Car Series visits the
Bakersfield Speedway. When the Mike Schweitzer
#41 pulls onto the track with two-time series
champion David Gasper behind the wheel, the
right side of the car will be adorned with the
name Bailey Schweitzer. Bailey, the daughter of
Bakersfield promoter Scott Schweitzer and his
wife Chrissy, lost her life in the October 2017
Las Vegas Route 41 Music Festival tragedy. Her
name will remain on the car for the entire 2024

April 16, 2024) Howdy racers.....
time to chalk up and shoot again! Clearly the
rain at Merced killed off a great opportunity
for our Civil War opener with BCRA. This
weekend's weather looks to be fantastic for
racing. Everyone put on an epic show at
Bakersfield at our last appearance on what was
one of the best race surfaces we've ever seen.

waved her black flag over another early-season
open-wheel race in California. With more than a
½ inch of rain predicted on Saturday, round #1
of the annual California Lightning Sprint Car
Series/Bay Cities Racing Association Civil War
has been canceled at the Merced Speedway. A

After a month off, the California Lightning
Sprint Car Series will head north this Saturday,
April 13th, to square off against the Bay Cities
Racing Association in round #1 of the annual
Civil War Series at the “Gateway to Yosemite,”
the Merced Speedway. The race will be the fourth

legend Bobby Michnowicz decided enough is enough
and proved the saying “Old Guys Rule” by laying
a beat down on the CLS field last Saturday at

TO WIN CLS MAIN AT IMPERIAL (Torrance,

After a blown starter relay fuse knocked him out
of the main event 24 hours earlier, Connor Speir
came back to win the California Lightning Sprint
Car Series/SoCal Lightning Sprint main event on
Saturday night at the Imperial Valley Raceway.
The victory was his second in lightning
competition and his first since his rookie year
in 2022. This Saturday night the CLS will make
its first 2024 appearance at the Bakersfield

After a phenomenal finish when he placed in the
top five in his last seven starts of 2023, Aiden
Lange served notice that he is a driver to be
reckoned with when he swept the show at the
California Lightning Sprint Car Series 30th
anniversary season opener at the Imperial Valley
Raceway on Friday night. The victory staked him
to the series point lead in the rigorous 20-race

Lightning Sprint Car Series will kick off its
historic 30th season with a pair of races during
the California Mid-Winter Fair at the Imperial
Valley Raceway this Friday and Saturday, March
1st and 2nd. Joining the CLS for this week’s
exciting races will be the SoCal Lightning
Sprints. Racing will begin at 7:00 p.m. on
Friday and 6:30 on Saturday. The main event will

SEASON SCHEDULE (Torrance, CA,
January 22, 2024) The
table has been set for the historic 30th season
of racing for Southern California’s premier
lightning sprint organization, the California
Lightning Sprint Cars. The famous So Cal-based
racing club will kick off the new campaign
during the annual California Mid-Winter Fair at
the Imperial Valley Raceway on March 1st and
2nd. The 20-race schedule will end nine months
