(Torrance, CA, October 8, 2019) I
n a very unexpected twist, darkness proved to be the big winner when the POWRi Lucas Oil California Lightning Sprint Car Series made an appearance at the Ventura Raceway last Saturday night. After qualifying and heat races, a transformer on the fairgrounds blew up, knocking out power to the lights on the back straightaway and turns. Thus, the remainder of the program had to be postponed.

On a brighter note, the main event from Saturday’s postponement will be made up before the full regular show at the CLS final 2019 appearance at Ventura on October 26th.

Before darkness forced the black flag on the main event, San Diego’s A.J. Bender, who won the main two weeks earlier at Bakersfield, out qualified the field with a lap of 12.399. Current point leader Jarrett Kramer of Spring Valley and series leading rookie Jason Arnolde won the two heat races.

Fans who would like to attend the race on the 26th in Ventura can find the track on the Ventura County Fairgrounds at 10 W. Harbor Boulevard (93001). The track website is http://venturaraceway.com/ and the office phone number is (805) 648-RACE.
